Game Setup!
Step One – Game Installation
- Click "Save" to an easy location then run the installer after the download is complete. Allow the installer to save to the default directory listed C:\Sierra\RedBaron3d. This download is fully patched complete with 1078 and XP Fix. To run Red Baron3d without the CD, simply click the Iron Cross in the top-right corner of the CD Missing prompt six times. ( Seven to eight minutes on broadband)
Step Two – Update your Mplayer.ini (allows you to see servers)
Download and Run Mplayer.ini updates utility.
Step Three – Gun Sight Installation
Download and Run the Gun Sight Utility Program.
Simply select the sight you prefer and it will automatically place your sight into your game.
Step Four – War Paints
Download and Run the War Paints installation program.
This includes all paints for all Red Baron squadrons; this download should take no more than five to ten minutes on broadband.
Ensure that your Multiplayer preferences are set to “Custom” aircraft textures. Multiplayer Preferences can be found on the lower left of the Pilot Roster screen when you load up Multiplayer. (XP users see following step, you may need to “re-freeze” your preferences anytime they are adjusted.)
Windows XP Users
Go to your default Red Baron3d folder located: C:\SIERRA\RedBaron3D, and then run the rb3dxpfix.exe.
Click “Fix Sound” and “Freeze Preferences”. Some users choose to start their game this way, others only have to run this program once.
